Create Website and Email Address Links (Text Tutorial)

Create a LinkLinks to websites and email addresses can be created from both text and images using the Canvas tool. All links to web pages are tracked as Clicks in your sent email reporting.

Image Links

Any image you add to your Canvas email can be turned into a link.

  1. Select the image you want to link
  2. Click the chain link icon on the top row of the toolbar. This will open the Insert Hyperlink dialog box
  3. Type in the web address to which you want to link. Be sure to include the http:// portion of the link like so: http://www.onlyinsanfrancisco.com
  4. Click update
  5. Your image is now a link. To test it, go to the Quick Preview section of the Canvas

Text Links

Add Link ButtonAny snippet of text within your email can be turned into a link.

  1. Highlight the text you want to link
  2. Click the chain link icon on the top row of the toolbar. This will open the Insert Hyperlink dialog box
  3. Type in the web address to which you want to link. Be sure to include the http:// portion of the link like so: http://www.famsf.org/deyoung/
  4. Click update
  5. Your selected text is now a link. To test it, go to the Quick Preview section of the Canvas

Email Address Links

In addition to linking to websites, you can also link both text and images to an email address.

  1. Choose the image or text you’d like to link
  2. Click the chain link icon on the top row of the toolbar. This will open the Insert Hyperlink dialog box
  3. Type in the email address to which you’d like to link. The address should be preceeded by the phrase mailto:, making the end result look like mailto:support@verticalresponse.com
  4. Click update
  5. You now have a link to an email address. To test it, go to the Quick Preview section of the Canvas
