- Use Segments to Build Targeted Lists: Use the Segments tool to create targeted lists, setup split tests and run exclusions / suppressions.

Creating & Managing Lists
The video & text help linked below details how to use the tools found within the Mailing Lists section of VerticalResponse. These five video demos and twelve text tutorials cover how to create and manage lists within your account. You'll learn how to:
- Upload a List - Move your list from your computer to your VerticalResponse account.
- Import Contacts - Are some or all of your contacts in a Gmail, Yahoo or Hotmail address book? Learn how to import them directly to your account.
- Manage Records - How to edit, manipulate and delete data once you get it into your account.

Opt-in Forms
The Opt-in Form Wizard allows you to build free signup forms for a website or blog so that vistors may join your mailing list. These video demos and text tutorials will show you how to:
- Build a Form - Learn how to use the provided wizard to build a form, connect it to a list in your account and customize the opt-in confirmation email.
- Add the Form to Your Site - Use our provided HTML to add the form to your website.

Segments
This section covers how to use the tools found within the Segments section of VerticalResponse. These video demos and text tutorials show how to create targeted lists using any data in your account. You'll learn to:
- Create Targeted Mailing Lists -Use any data in your account to target specific groups of customers and subscribers.
- Setup Split Tests -Split a list (or lists) into multiple, randomized lists to test changes in content and timing.
- Run Exclusions -Exclude one group from another group to ensure you don't accidentally send an email to the incorrect set of people.

Best Practices
Your list is the foundation of your email marketing program. You obviously can't send an email out if you don't have a list to which to send it, but you also can't get the most from your marketing if you don't take good care of your list.
